Period residence Palazzo Carletti is located on the piano nobile of an important medieval building that was enlarged and transformed in the 1700s, assuming its current appearance. In the heart of Montepulciano’s historic center, the Palazzo is just a short walk from Piazza Grande, overlooking the Corso on one side and offering an extraordinary panorama of the Val di Chiana, Lake Trasimeno and the mountains around Cortona on the other.
The goal of the long restoration work carried out on the palazzo, one of the very few examples of an 18th century apartment with a completely painted and frescoed hall, its ceilings close to or above 6 meters in height, was to restore its original beauty. A decision was therefore taken to use only natural materials and the handcraftsmanship of those who have contributed to the hopefully successful attempt to strike a balance between past and present.
Palazzo Carletti is a charming historic or luxury – if you will – residence which due to its small size (only 5 rooms and suites) is not able to offer a full range of hotel services. But everything we do offer (the comfort, the details, the services included in your stay and the people who will welcome you) is designed to ensure that you enjoy this beautiful setting in a personal, serene and unconditioned way.

Palazzo Carletti has 3 suites and 2 double rooms, all of which non-smoking and with unique features and 17th and 18th century frescoes. All of Palazzo Carletti’s rooms and suites are located on the second floor, the piano nobile. Due to the historical significance of the Palazzo, the elevator is not available.
There is also a large, fully frescoed hall where you can enjoy your breakfast and various standard amenities common to all of the rooms: air conditioning, satellite TV, complimentary Pay TV, complimentary mini-bar, ice maker, safe, telephone, internet radio, tea and espresso maker.
