Period residence Palazzo Carletti is located on the piano nobile of an important medieval building that was enlarged and transformed in the 1700s, assuming its current appearance. In the heart of Montepulciano’s historic center, the Palazzo is just a short walk from Piazza Grande, overlooking the Corso on one side and offering an extraordinary panorama of the Val di Chiana, Lake Trasimeno and the mountains around Cortona on the other.
The goal of the long restoration work carried out on the palazzo, one of the very few examples of an 18th century apartment with a completely painted and frescoed hall, its ceilings close to or above 6 meters in height, was to restore its original beauty.
